Can Quelbazar rise from the ashes?

Phoenix

Reflections of a Christmas Eve tomorrow: Quelbazar Blog, even if it has not yet died, lost the luster of his best years, where it contained (sometimes…) articles, where visitors commented and shared items, and where the statistics of visits were honourable.

But the Blog of Quelbazar could rise from the ashes, or at least a new momentum?

This blog exists since 2006, first on a French blogging platform, under a different name. It was the time of glory of blogs, where everyone was blogging, shared, and where a community of bloggers was created. A time when Facebook and Twitter didn't exist, or anyway were not interest many people.

And then people are older. Facebook has grown. And Twitter also. And "blogs" went from fashion. Or in any case specialized in specific topics. And the principle of the "personal journal" is gradually passed into oblivion.

In any case I'm not a fan of the "it was better before", but the report quickly: the Blog of Quelbazar did not follow the movement. Findings in bulk:

  • He doesn't have a specific theme, it's a catchall chaotic (but wonderful).
  • Its design is a little dated. The fault to the total lack of creativity of its blogmaster and his age (that of the blog, not mine!)
  • He is drowning in the pubs. Because – the blogmaster, he likes to try everything. And he reports at least $2 per month.
  • It is above all a playground and technology watch for its author, which is to go in all directions. Finding reinforced by its digital brethren, for example the Quelbazar online shop, or his presence on Twitter.

A question without an answer, for now, is whether the Quelbazar Blog still has loyal readers, subscribers. I think that this is not the case, but I'm going to dissect the statistics of visits to see who reads Quelbazar.

After that, a blog, so that its raison d'etre, he needs own content, with "added value" for the reader. Not far from me, a good example, it is Nakan.ch, the blog of a geek triathlete who provides its readers to real hardware tests, by his passion.

So I come back to my initial question. To give life to this blog, it should be:

  • A real editorial line
  • Own publications, which bring something to the readers
  • A design worthy of the name
  • Readers…
  • So the will and work…
  • And a goal…

Am I ready for the challenge? At straightening the curve of visit statistics? This is, I think, my first question I ask myself in 2017.

I want you to know!
