Amazon.fr increases its minimum amounts of purchases for the franchise of port

Amazon.com today announced that the minimum necessary to get free fast delivery in metropolitan France, Monaco, in Belgium and the Luxembourg purchase will increase since January 15, 2014:

  • The minimum purchase password 15 euros to 25 euros for all product categories except for books for which free fast delivery is offered.
  • A minimum purchase of 25 euros is introduced for clothing, shoes and luggage.

In addition, and it concerns us more, we Helvetii: the minimum purchase for get delivery free quick books, CD, DVD, Blu – Ray, software or video games (off consoles and some large accessories) in Switzerland goes from 20 euros to 25 euros from January 15, 2014.

I do not know if this change has to do with the 'anti-Amazon law' (more precisely the "law on the regulation of the distance selling of books") adopted by the french Senate last Wednesday, January 8.

This law prohibits free delivery charges, if the book is ordered online without be removed in a trade. The 5% discount on the price of the book no longer exists, but the delivery costs can be reduced to an amount equivalent to 5% of the price of the book. In all cases, the text is not even applicable since it must return to the National Assembly in order to undergo a second reading before a possible application.
